Does the steel wheel center cap mount on the front side or from the rear before wheel mounting. New cap seems really tight. Don’t want to damage it.

Assuming it's the correct P/N, and it looks like its the hook/clip style.

Line it up straight, and use a rubber mallet to pop them in. It is super tight, but it's metal and they'll be fine.

The hooks/clips slide in and catch the wheel face.

The aforementioned "hooks" on my hub caps, below.

it attaches from the front side, beat it on with a mallet. i hated those style center caps as they never really want to go on without a little help from the persuader
