So I was lucky enough to get a Fj40 from an original owner and it has these straps that go across the door opening. Does anyone have a picture of how they are supposed to connect near the front hinge. There is a shoulder bolt where they connect to the frame by the door latch.

So I found the bars in a box of parts I got with truck. Still not sure how the bars mount. Any body have a picture of the bars and straps mounted?

ahh, Thanks! I That seems kinda strange but I will go with it!!!

That is the factory option for hard top models. The Soft top models up into the seventies at least had a thread hole at each end of the dash for a eyebolt. Not sure what years but Toyota included the bars and safety straps on hard top models. Know 78 was one year. Probably a few others years around this time. I now some bows from someone a long time ago he later gave me a pair of OEM straps still in the original bag.
