Last weekend I picked up a set of 93/94 alloy rims for my '96 80 for when I need to hit the Inspection station every 2 years since the 315s make it too high . There not pretty but look good enough and match the rest of the truck :hillbilly:.

I know the lug nuts are not the same between the 2 sets so Im going to have to get some. ( I asked the guy I got the rims from and he said he used them to mount the LX450 rims to his 93 ) I was going to say something but he scared me so I paid the cash, loaded up then GTFO in 30sec flat .
Ok Heres the ?
The older style lug nuts are just conical cone seats right ?
I can just use the same as what I would use on steel wheels ,correct?

Thanks

Thanks Kevin
Thats what I thought but its always better to ask once then buy twice :hillbilly:

My straight shank nuts also have a conical end that worked for me on Toy steel wheels. YMMV.

I saw this too, but I wanting a little more surface area where they seat since the conical end is more to help ease install with the mag style rims

yes, I'd be careful with alloy wheels if they don't have a steel insert. The cone tips are indeed narrow. But fine for my steel wheels IMHO.

I just picked up a steel rim with a MT tire mounted on it for a trail spare for my 97 LX. Will my LX lug nuts work on the steel rim? Looks like it needs the cone style.

I have seen conical type wheels installed with shank type nuts, so it works, maybe. IMHO would get a set of the correct conical lugs to use with the spare.

x2 on just getting a complete set of whatever lug nuts you need for you spare. Possibly even throw in a set of new wheel studs while you're at it, just in case. Not a whole lot of money being spent there, but a good amount of piece of mind. Just my .02...
