Stock tires can't really be this bad

I'd be surprised that a set could be so bad as a group of 4 that it would make way more racket.

KO2's are considered a very quiet AT, and not heavy.

Did you bump up to a size well over stock? Like 33"? Otherwise, I can't imagine you'd see a major drop in acceleration, etc.

It is 33”, but my previous set were also 33” Michelin Defenders. I still have the KO2s on and haven’t returned them yet. They are not bad as I may have sounded and the ride is fine. They are fine around town and up to 55mph speeds but once I get on highway speeds 70-80+, I can feel the difference in noise and I need to use the muscles in my right foot more.

Maybe find a set of 17’s like Rock Warriors and go with 285/70/17, which measure barely 32”. Rock warriors are light for their strength.

Frankly, it will be tough to beat the KO2’s in road manners unless you go to an AT that is more AT in name than build/function.

I have the stock Dunlop’s on my 2015 LX. I run Michelin LTX on the LX470 and the GX470. Does anyone have experience with both the Dunlop and the Michelin LTX on the LX570? I am getting ready for a new set of tires. We do highway driving only.

I think this was a sign to finally get new tires. 11,500 miles on them and we've had to plug one and now one is toast.

Wish I was closer. I'm in st Louis

Thanks

I’m down to two different tires for my wife’s warm weather setup. Nokian ZLine SUV(summer performance) 285/50/20 and Nokian Rotiiva HP(all season highway) 275/60/20 or 275/55/20. If I go with the highway tire, I’ll most likely go with the extra sidewall. Do any of you have any experience with these tires?

For stock tire, I love the Michelin Latitute Tour HP on my 11 LX. Quite and great in thunderstorm but have not try them in snow though which is pretty much not an issue here in Houston.

Want an AWESOME AT tire with snowflake 3MP logo but still super quiet (way quieter than KO2s) and good on the road:

Falken Rubitrek ATs.

For street driving I also love the Latitude Tour HPs that were OEM on the LX until 2016. Quiet, round, pretty good dry and wet grip for a SUV tire, and a nice ride. I haven't tried them in the snow (which almost never happens here, except in the mountains) but wouldn't expect much; snow driving is just a different category.

Once we are finally able to go skiing regularly (it's been tough during babyhood of both our kids) I expect to get a set of Blizzaks on separate rims.

What size you get? Don’t seem to make the stock size and if larger any rubbing?

Got them on a Ram 1500 285/70/17. They're very new tires so thats probably why no stock sizes. If you're looking for BFGs and want quieter ride, check out the Falkens, same performance, less noise and 35% less $. They used to make crap tires before but their new lines are up to par with the big names.

Heard good things about Falken just not the OEM size. Anyone running them on a stock 200? love to find out about any rubbing etc and what size you went with

The easiest no-nonsense Falken AT3W size for the LC would be a 285/65/18. 32.6" tall. Shouldn't have any rubbing. Great minor tire lift with same as stock width to make sure on-road handling isn't further compromised.

I ended up going with Terra Grappler G2's (285/60/18) on my 16. Everything else is factory. I've put around 100 miles on them so far. I couldn't be happier. They are slightly louder than the factory Dunlops (my wife doesn't even notice) but the ride is much improved. The LC feels more planted, eats up bumps, and doesn't seem to body roll as much.

I run BFG KO2s in the summer on the stock 20” on my 2013 LX570 and studded Nokian hakka’s on 18” tundra wheels for winter. I can tell you since I had to have my summer set up on a month longer than I wanted (waiting on new winter tires to arrive) this past fall. On winter roads here in Alaska The KO2s are terrifying especially when on the breaks compared to the dedicated snow tire. The difference from the BFG to the Nokian is like the OEM Dunlop to the BFG.

Looks great! I think this is the route I will go and then run blizzaks in the winter. Is this the closest size to oem match available?

BFG work great here in Florida;)

Could you tell me which version this is? There are two different ones on the nitto site and they seem to think neither is compatible with the LC which I know is bs.

I had Toyo ATs on my white Cruiser up until Jan this year when I swapped out the Toyo's for Cooper Zenon LTZ's.
I had the Coopers on my 17 Armada and compared them both over this past winter, the Coopers were much better in wet, snow, ice conditions.
The Coopers are quieter too.

I agree the factory tires are crap. All about fuel mileage and sound levels as well as speed ratings etc.

I already have another set of the Coopers already on the way for the 18 Cruiser.
