What is the stock tire size for a 1973 fj55 or what is a good size to run for the around town dailly driver?

It probably came with H78-15's. The metric equivalent would be a 235/75R15 (29X9 in standard terms).

I personally like the 31X10.50 for all around use with stock sagging springs.

Chance, the FSM says you can run 9.00-15 6P max., not exactly sure what that means except Cookie cutters. I run 31" x 10.5 on my Pig with no trouble.

31 x 10.5 is a nice contrast to the 235s/29"er....certainly better appearance and increased stability. I sure do like the look of the 33 x 9.5 though I had the original Dunlops on my parts rig - narrow tread pattern and they appeared taller than a 235....great tires, however they were pretty beat.
