Ive had my FJ for almost 2 years now, and from the beggining i could not stand how the dog hair sticks to the seats. THe only way to remove it is with tweezers one by one!. My dog travels ALOT with me, and i am a salesman so my FJ has to be presentable at times. I am a newbie here, but have heard alot about the Okole seat covers, anyone with DOG experience and these seat covers? Can they be vacuumed easily and the dog hair comes off? I have a German Short Hair Pointer, and it seems the hairs just get imbedded in the fabric.

If not the Okole style i am thinking of pleather or even leather?

THANKS!!

Yes... you need the Wet Okoles. They are a great product for dog owners. I have two chocolate labs that are with me all the time. The covers are made out of a wet suit material and the dog hair cannot weave it's way into the neoprene. It is easy to clean.... I'd get the cleaning kit and UV spray stuff when you order your covers.

Here is a shot of m covers installed. I went with the Eruo style with the red piping.

I also got an additional cover from an auto parts store for the back seats because they sometimes like to lay back there. I know it is funny to get a seat cover for my seat cover, but those WOs look so nice and I want to keep them in good condition.

I like the wet okyles. I'm thinking of doing black like you with red pipeing and a TRD logo on the headrest or in the middle of the seat. Gotta save up though, just bought an Arb rack and those wet okyles ain't cheap. O.o. The stock seats catch everything and get stained VERY easily, and toyota acts like you can just unbolt them and wash them..not with the airbag\weight sensors embedded in the seats including the airbag itself :(

How easy are these to install though? I'm thinking I'll just unbolt the seats and take them out to put the covers on, how did you go about doing it?

I just installed my front covers without removing the seats. Then only trouble I had was with the passenger side. my hands and arms are big and I had to unbolt the seay from the floor to gain a little more room for the "paws".

Also, there is a wire on both seats that comes down behind the seat and goes underneath. I unplugged it (bitch of a job) and cut a small hole in the flap of the Wet Okolies to pass it through. I haven't done the rear seats yet.

Toledo, do you have to remove the rear seats to install the rear covers? Do you remove the plastic backing?

Thanks,

Cryoboss

Odd that you had trouble unplugging the weight\airbag sensor. I had to take my seats out when I dynamatted the entire floor and didn't run into any problems.

I didn't need to unbolt anything. I just stuck them on. I didn't remove the plastic backing either. It was a little tight getting all the straps that go under the seat tightened, but overall it was easy.

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR THE FEEDBACK! It was very helpful. I ordered some swatches, but will probably go with charcoal inside and orange piping.

Wet Okole are TOPS

I got the black w/ no piping 5 months ago and they look & hold up GREAT.

I use one of those roller sticky clothes lint removers to get the dog hair off of them very easily.

Anybody noticed that all the pictures of black w\ red pipeing covers, the red looks pink? O.o. These are going to be my next mod, it's just going to be a complete b**** to unbolt 10 huge screws metal screws on the back seat and get off the amp rack...eek.

It is just the photo lighting. They are safety red.

Are those half pipe, or full pipe? I'm trying to think about what pipe color..it would either be red, or white, for the black seat...

Those are full piping. They make a totally different style too where the entire center is colored and the outer panels are black or whatever other color.

I like yours the best. What logo does it have on it? Also, on their website..under "full piping color" they don't have red...how did you get red full piped?

Hope this link works.... option three under the section "Choose the type of seat cover you want for your vehicle". The half piping covers only have the piping on the outer border. It is probably best to order by phone so you can talk to a living person. There are like a thousand questions they ask you and I found it easier to deal with a person than an automated system.

Wow you new school toy guys are silly!

I think he may be referring to the fact that we are willing to spend $500 on seat covers for a trail rig. Mine is my daily driver as well, so a stripped out utilitarian build isn't what I'm after. I want it to look nice at the mall and still kick ass on the trail. So far so good!
