A few months ago I decided to replace my brake booster/master cylinder on my 03 LX470. I picked up a rebuilt booster from Andy Le (thanks Andy!) and got it put in. However I've been having trouble dialing in my brakes. I adjusted my pushrod out to where my brakes felt great but after about 20 mins my brakes start to stick for just a split second after coming to a slow stop or when I'm stopped and my wheels are turned. I've replaced a leaking brake line, a brake hose, replaced both front calipers and pads and greased the brake pedal pivot points with white lithium grease. Still nothing is working. I'm 90% sure I've got all the air out of the lines, I also used techstream as well to bleed the abs cylinders. After pumping the brakes 40 times when I turn on the key the brake booster motor runs for 30 secs. Any ideas? I'm losing my mind over here. I just want my Cruiser back.

Check the rear brake caliper pins they are notorious for seizing.

I did this. I even went so far as to replace the entire front calipers and pads, new slide pins and all new hardware on the brakes/calipers.

Do you have the correct brake hardware that keeps the pads separated from the disks? If everything is new and you have everything I cant think of why it would stick. Brakes only stick after 20 mins? I felt something similar to this when I used white lithium grease on my caliper pins. When they would heat up it would get sticky. I removed that grease and put proper brake grease that went away.

Yep I used brake grease on the slide pins, setup all the hardware and everything! It was driving perfect when I did them yesterday but today after 20 mins of driving the brakes started sticking again. I'm losing my mind over here. I'm going on two months of chasing this issue down!

I'm trying to get a better understanding. So the problems started after the brake booster was replaced? The brakes were not sticking prior to that?

That's the thing. The brakes did stick before but it wasn't as often. Before the new booster maybe once a day they would stick and I'd be like "huh, that was weird" and then it wouldn't happen again that day. With the new one its consistent after 20 mins of driving.

I'm going to try readjusting or shortening the brake pushrod today to hopefully find a sweet spot but I'm not hopeful that will work at this point.

hmm maybe it related to the pushrod go the opposite direction you have been going and see if that caused the problem.

I think I got it! I had to shorten the arm WAY in. I've been driving it for the last hour and very little binding or sticking. I think I'm good 🤞 thanks for the help!
