For 1988 FJ62
Wanted to swap out factory radio for Kenwood for CarPlay and rear view camera. Used the metra harness and wired everything to the Kenwood harness; removed Toyota unit and plugged in the Metra, seemed easy but alas no power to unit. Tried to do a separate ground wire based on some research, but no luck.
Have read that perhaps the Metra harness (recommended by Crutchfield) may not line up properly with the Toyota harness wiring for power but unsure how to proceed.
Caveat...I am not an expert but have done some other projects with success. Just not sure how to determine if this is a wiring issue, fuse issue or something else above my pay grade. Chat GPT has only made things more complicated...

Thanks for any guidance!

1. I hope you are in a heated garage today...
2. Did you verify you have power on the red wire coming into the plug?
3. Imagining you ordered from them, Crutchfield has always been great about helping me troubleshoot, or figure out solutions. Last occasion was putting a double DIN in my daughters 2003 Tahoe and figuring out what to jump under the console, so steering wheel controls worked.

Thanks, too cold for this project today for sure. It was working fine in the factory unit (think power is the blue/yellow and gray on the Toyota side); good point to just call Crutchfield and ask. Probably something I have screwed up somehow...
