Everything was bought either at Walmart or Amazon.

The front speakers installed in the original square factory holes where the plastic mounting clips for the factory speakers were. I used the plastic clips linked above from Amazon. I used some round plastic spacers that I cut into 4 pieces and 2-sided tape to create about 1/8" of space (maybe a bit more), mounted behind the speaker frame. Worked great, no drilling. I used the original wiring.

Rear speakers: The only modification I had to do in this entire job was to cut the rear cap off the plastic speaker housing for the rears. Easy peasy. Used factory wiring.

Subwoofer: This thing is great. It really changed the sound in my 80. I ran the wiring from the stereo down under the plastic that covers the shifters and the center console. There was already a slot in the carpet so I didn't even have to cut. I mounted plumber's tape to the two rear seat bolts and angled the tape so that it lined up with the mounting holes on the JBL. The wiring doesn't show, and if I need to access the knobs for the JBL (which I hardly will) I simply move the seat forward. The sounds is great. I had to run a hot wire from under the hood though the firewall, then to the stereo area, then down with the other wiring. I grounded it with an existing bolt under the shifter plastic cover.

Except for the plastic rear speaker holders that I cut the back side out of, my Cruiser is unmodified. The sound is really good and everything looks original, which was important to me.

I hope this helps.
