I have a steering wheel that looks pretty good, but the plastic has already taken on that powdery texture along the edges. Does anybody know of any products that can protect the plastic from further breakdown?

Hhmmm...gotta be something out there like an acrylic...I am seeing gift shop scorpions encrusted in acrylic make believe amber.

Check out 303 Protectant. We use it on whitewater rafts/kayaks and dry-suit gaskets. Sun protection for your goodies...not affiliated just know that our inflatable water toys would rot without it! Not sure if it has silicone in it so use it carefully where you may paint! I have been meaning to call the company and ask.
