Can anyone confirm if a GX460 or 5th gen 4runner steering rack and pinion is interchangeable with GX470?

Simple answer is NO.
Different ratio.
Different size tie rod.

Might fit as complete assembly but not sure what is the impact to stability control. 150 series got close to 20% slower ratio and it might cause the stability control to get mess up. Might be able to be remedied by using 150 series steering angle sensor. It's unverified at this point.

Doing a little more research and found this

edit: did a little more homework and looks like the lc200 is the better uograde

150 series rack will bolt up mechanically. It's the stability control that nobody knows for sure yet.

200 series rack will only fit RCLT equipped vehicle or at least other long travel suspension. Nobody found a regular tie rod that will fit for the much narrower stock suspension yet.

Do we know yet about the stability control? And what kind of impact would it have?

There are no electronics attached to the rack. All of the sensors are on the steering wheel column (inside the vehicle and upstream of the rack) and the, vehicle interior, and on the hubs (past the rack).

I personally wish I would have known about the 150 rack upgrade when I replaced my rack in 2021 or 2022 (don't recall when exactly). I will, however, be buying some tie rod reinforcement sleeves to help keep my steering alive when wheeling.

The slower ratio actually makes it a bit better. This has become the go to replacement for GX470 and 4th Gen 4runner. I got mine for more than a year and it's been fine.

The pipe flare are not exactly the same and care must be taken when torqueing it down. Too tight and it can mess up the flare. Not enough and it leaked.

Must center the rack really good or it would mes up steering angle sensor reading.
