hey guys- I am just about to part with my 78 FJ40 original steel tub, to make way for an Aqualu aluminum tub. (The part I'm getting rid of is from the front cowl back....not including the cowl. It has a fair amount of rust...but could easily be fixed if the right welder got ahold of it.

I wish mine looked that good. If I were closer I'd be over tomorrow. May I ask What the tub set you back a far as the initial cost and then shipping? did you go through a shop or directly from aqualu? I'm still mulling over all of the sheet metal work ahead of me and contemplating buying a new tub/full body and writing the son of Beach of for a business expense! But it's still alot of work reboding on these, especially with the Aluminum Cowl right? Keep us all updated on your progress.

Total, including shipping ($789) from Aqualu in Canada, it was $3015.00 US. I believe it was worth it. No welding required since the new tub just bolts up to the old cowl. Here is my buildup thread....I should be getting around to acutally putting on the new tub soon. Tell me what you think. https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=110920

Thanks, Eli
