I have a 92 Land cruiser that will not start. The PO stated that they were driving down the road and it suddenly died. I sprayed starter fluid in and it wanted to fire up but it seems to not be receiving fuel. Any suggestions or thoughts?

After further investigation, the PO had inserted the distributor in backwards. It is running now, but it idles very high and sounds like it's going to take off. Have any of you had this problem and what was the cause? Thanks
