so glow plug circuit is fine and all working-bypassed all the ecu for this
no air leaks in fuel line and primer rock hard on starting
However its getting cooler here( only 5 deg C) but cold for us and my 1KZTE is exhibiting the exact symptoms of bad glow plugs -
-takes about 5 goes to wind over and splutters and coughs
-have to give it some throttle to get going and keep the high idle button on for at least 3 minutes
-lots of unburnt diesel blows out the exhaust once started
-unrelated but could be connected Over Drive wont engage till speed hits 105Km/hr regardless what the temperature the vehicle is running and for how long- once engaged the O/D behaves as it should until the next time the vehicle is shut down(really weird)
Im leaning towards a timing issue on the pump- just wondering if the engine coolant temp sensor the ECU reads could be the culprit?
Does this sensor also control timing or fuel on cold start?
Im going to pull the sensor tonight and test it just seeing if anyone else has had any similar issues with a solution other than spraying good old engine start down the intake cheers
