Hi guys, I usually hang out in the 40 section, but I just bought my youngest son an '85 4Runner and I need some help. Does anyone know the size for the starter bolt and the nut that goes on the upper stud? The PO removed the bad starter and lost the hardware (we roll started it to test drive). It's a stock 22RE motor. The nut is discontinued and the bolt is 4-5 days away from the dealer. Thanks!:)

you mean the nut that holds the solenoid on? pry a m6 x 1.0 or it might be coarse I can check when I get home

the bolts that hold the starter on should be 14mm hex and either m12 x 1.25 or m14 x 1.25

I'm not near you, but thanks. Yeah, 1 bolt and 1 nut for the stud. I'm going to try an M10x1.25 I snagged from work and go from there. Pics to follow, gotta get it off the trailer and mostly, I gotta get home before dark!

Success! It was M10x1.25. Starter installed, can't find the small wire to the solenoid ( daggone PO:bang:), will get it tomorrow. I jumped the solenoid and she fired right up and purred like a kitten. Also, pics tomorrow in an intro thread ( I'll be home before dark tomorrow, hopefully).
