Stupid question I imagine...

This will work on my LC, right? Nothing different on the back end from the Lexus, is there? Also, curious about how the latch works with the center position. Does that swing out with the tire? Now I'm REEEEALLY happy I held out for your bumper, Christo!! I am so tired of dragging by Draw-Tite across every rock in the desert.

WOW :o

It should work, but we have to test fit in any case. The side moulding on the back of the LX is a little different from the Land Cruiser. Mounting should be the same. The latch is on the end of the carrier and swings out with the carrier.

The bumper or the truck?

The truck of course, then you will have the "luxury school bus" 8)

Here are some shots of the bumper we are working

How many miles on the LX when you bought it? How much was it?

Any problems so far.

Thanks, thinking of getting a 98-99 LC or LX

Nice! But dang three years too late.

Christo, whats the tow rating for this bumper?

Oh, and WOW it looks great - I'm holding off on the 80 series bumper and sliders 'cause I might be getting a 100 series.

The receiver will not be rated. To be honest I have not been able to determine how big companies rate receivers. I am not sure if it is based on construction, or destructive testing. However it is tied to the rear cross member.

Ah, the joys of working with liability concerns.... :slap: I know this all too well. I take your reply to mean it's a beefy bumper sturdily connected to the frame of the vehicle so (drawing my own conclusion) probably OK as class III but you're on your own.

Yes, there is a gap. That allows the receiver to be there and also allows for the bottom to be sloped 45 degrees. Only way to get a receiver and not have to cut the rear. All in all it works out sinde the back of the truck bubbles out and the bumper needs to bet that far out in order for the tire carrier to clear the tailgate.

How deep is the receiver ? The rear crossmember is not altered to provide an opening for reciever tube to slide in?

You may recalled Amando's UZJ-100 rear bumper where we made a square hole cut out so the receiver tube can slid all the way in along with optional toyota-made receiver adaptor.

What the thickness of the steel plates since you said it is heavier then 80's?

Jay, I have to measure, but I believe it is 5". We redrill the hole closer to the end of the receiver so you can still get the pin in from the outside. A standard 2" coupler will fit, but obviously by redrilling the hole closer to the end, the receiver is downrated from it's normal strength. By how much, don't know.

You do not have to cut the cross member. Also , the plate thickness is the same (3/16") but the overall bumper is way bigger than the 80 bumper. The size of the wings & the size of the step etc. I will post updated pics later today.
