I put a set of 2008 f150 springs in the rear of my 84/86/88 4runner project. I know that the 86-96 f150 springs are a popular swap, and I did that to my Tacoma. These are slightly different, though not any more difficult.
I used a set from the 2008 2wd f150. There are two springs in each leaf. I found them for 60$, less than 15k on them. Guy was lowering his show truck.
I was slightly worried about axle wrap, but the f150 had a v8 and a 2" factory block in it with no anti wrap bar. Time will tell I guess.
They are slightly longer than the older f150 springs and are 3" wide.
I simply cut off my old mount to widen it and then I moved it roughly 3.5" forward. The rear hanger is moved back about 7".
I drilled out 3/4" nuts and cut them in half fill the void left from the 3" spring vs. 2 3/8" hanger.
The front hanger needs drilled out to 18mm.
The hole in the spring perch needs widened slightly. I did this with a dremel.
unloaded my 6" shackles are around 60*.
Roughly 3-4" of lift.
Pinion angle isn't bad, I need to shim it 4* to point straight at my tcase for the cc shaft.
Overall super happy. Matches my slider boxed RUF perfectly.
