Do you know of any other springs that might work. I did read something about the use of :frown: Ford F150 rear springs

Do you not have the stock springs? If they are not bent or cracked, then just set it up with them. I would clean them up with a wire wheel and spray Slip Plate (industrial implement lube in a rattle can). If you need perches then a common part is to use perches from a 4wd dodge. Mopar part# 4120074. Should run about $15 for a pair. If your springs are already flat without a load on them, you could either purchase a long add a leaf, or search for some good stock 40 or 55 springs. I would probably buy new stock height springs before I bought any lift springs or other brand of spring.

I have the 4" lift but the thing is too tight. I want to do the longer springs and high steering from 4X4 labs

I found some purches from "Roughstuff" that has the correct cut out for the pitching of the front diff., three different angles. Have you heard about these parts? How do you feel about the kits that do away with U-bolts and only use welded purches and grade 8 bolts

personaly, I really like U bolts...

Dan at ruffstuff is the man. Glad you found him. If longer springs is what you want then find two pair of 55 rear springs and have at it. Keep your spring hangers in there stock location, pick up a couple of pairs of Dans shackle hangers and weld them further forward and further back to get a 45 degree shackle angle. Not sure about those bolted perches. I just stuck with u bolts. Get some beefier u bolt plates though. Man-a-fre sells a decent set of u bolts for $50. A full set for front and rear. If you are going to be running the tie rod behind the axle, then you do not want to have the short side of a cruiser leaf towards the back. The short side of the spring will interfear with the tie rod on full droop. Even with Lukes tallest arms. Ask me how I know.

Well lets see.......................... I'm gessing that you made that mistake? So if I go with the FJ55 springs or any spring that is even in off set then I should be ok?

I have some of the U-bolt plates from BTB that I used in begining to protect the bolt ends and the nuts, I thought that I would use them and that will allow me to not have to make the bump stops, there already built in.

Thanks for the advice, get some rest it must be late there.

My customer wishes for me to do a Spring Over on his already lifted '75 FJ40.

I've read and read until my friggin eye's hurt and this is the only post on the site with a ton of info but no actual Tech on doing it.

Am I to assume from this that a SOA, without a Cut and Turn of the knuckles will likely bind the drive lines simply because there is already a lift on the rig as it sits...
