I'm in the process of reassembling my instrument cluster after some cosmetic upgrades. How do you install the speedometer needle onto the shaft to ensure it's in the proper position?

That's a good question. I assume it should be pointing to the 0 in its resting position.
My 70 series speedo was about 8 k's out, so I pulled off the needle and re-attached it slightly diifferent, went for a drive with a gps , repeated the process until it was spot on.
