Hi guys, hoping someone can help my novice knowledge of my truck here.

I've got an issue with my speedo and my main fuel tank gauge no moving. I had a pretty serious crash a while back and that's what caused it. I'm not sure if the two are part of the same issue or two separate issues. The cable looks and seems like it is in tack on the transmission. About to pull it out and further investigate but figured I'd see if I can get some help on here first.

Once I have these and a few other minor issues sorted out I'm going to put up a build thread as well, about time I spent some cash on the big rig.

Cheers, Jamie.

Speedometer should be an easy one, it is cable driven. So, pull the transfer case end off, and pull the speedometer gear assembly off the tcase also and see if there is any damage to either. Then yank the instrument cluster, and no see if maybe that end popped off. Plus if you can get a wiring diagram, you can shoot the wires on he fuel gauge and see if there is continuity back to the tank sender. Then see if you can get to the tank sender, I don't know if the 79 series have an access panel, but my troopie doesn't :(

So everywhere I've looked says that I should have a cable for my speedo but i just can't find it, on my tcase or behind my instrument cluster...this is the back of my cluster. Is this the same as yours phrogg?

Cheers

2000, I thought maybe I've blown a fuse somewhere possibly? Pretty sure what I did find is the sensor on my transfer case.

Ahhhhh, lucky man;)

Well, just like the fuel sender, check he sender on the Tcase, and look at the wire colors on the pigtail, match them up with the gauge cluster and check the wire for continuity, good place to start before shot gunning parts. Pull the speedo sender and check for damage on the sender's teeth.

The cruiser 7X series with 5 stud rims have elec speedos.

Where was the crash on the vehicle

Cheers phrogg. unfortunately I got side tracked and now I'm stuck back at work for a week so I won't be able to touch it.

Yeah it's definitely electric thanks, crash was front left impact at about 60km/hr...bent my chassis pretty good...manage to get that straightened after a good day and a half on the racks. Now I'm chasing a new bullbar though. Thinking I might just go custom.
