I noticed that when you do a basic search the results come back based on relevance and there is no way to sort by date instead of relevance. I think this might be why so many people resurrect old for sale posts in the classifieds.

I know you can sort by date in the advanced, and even select the forum you want to search (but classifieds didn't seem to be on the list) but many newer users may not use that method.

Is there an easy way to add sort to the basic search as an option?

Just a thought!

The default can be changed between Relevance, Most Recent, and Word Count...however, it's a global change to ANY search.

hmmm....current is set to Relevance....I'll switch to "Most Recent" and see what that does.

That's an interesting point.. so the change is global? No way to make it relevance in tech and recent in classifieds? I think that would be ideal and closer to people's intent, but understand if the tool doesn't provide that option...

Thanks for looking into it!
