Just thought I'd share with some fellow mudders. Towards the end of Sidewinder at Corral canyon OHV near San Diego.

I was looking at the 4xinnovations and this makes me want to go exo

I would go EXO if you don't care about taking the top off. The only reason I didn't is because I like to take the top off and I also have a soft top. With the EXO it's pretty difficult to have a soft top.

Well I leave the top off, soft top forthcoming. That's my only sticking point with the exo is how to do the cross bar. If I do a cross bar at the B pillar the top can never go back on. I could make the cage drop down to flush with the roof and still make a soft top work but have figured out how that would work just yet.

I've seen people add pieces to bridge most of the gap between the body and the cage to limit the impact damage.. also tossing that idea around

I'm still scratching my head about what I want to do. Sure I'll be posting when I start

Update... also things considered she fixed up quite nicely. I also picked up a set of tube doors to take any potential door dings out of play for the future. I'll attach picks with tube doors after I'm done painting.

did you just pound the dent out from the inside or did you do something more fancy. I used a tree as a pivot point on my passenger side the weekend before last and I'd like to get it back to semi normal just because my rig was pretty damn nice before I started using it haha

I took it to a guy who does body work on the side. He ended up using a Porto power against the cage to bend it out a little, then he ended up cutting a section of roof out and replating it to give it more strength. He said that the metal was too wrinkled which is why he welded the new plate. He worked at a body shop for a number of years and seems pretty knowledgeable and works relatively cheap. All said I was happy with how it turned out.

Also, the tube doors should prevent this type of stupidity in the future because they offer way better visibility:
