I was down Metberry on Saturday, and somebody had been driving in the river - tire tracks on the sand bars. Not sure how they got down there - the cables were all intact. It looked like there was a place downstream maybe 100 yards, before the large rocks, where somebody went in. I'm thinking they might have gone around the cables further uphill somehow. Was busy keeping track of kids and time and such so I didn't get to investigate further.

There wasn't significant damage that I saw, but it certainly won't help the cause of trying to get Hackett and Longwater open into Park county. And of course, once there's one set of tracks ... :bang:

I wouldn't mind taking another ride down there to see what might need doing.

There's also a big bypass around those rocks in the creek bottom also - don't remember if that was there back on the club run.

That just sucks. I hate stupid people. I would volunteer to go down with you and fix that Eric, but it's pretty late in the season and I think in another month, No one will be going down there. This same thing happened last year and my wife and I put the fence back up, then the spring thaw took care of the ruts. I figure the river will fix itself again, then maybe next time we think about it, we can go throw some logs or something in the offending path.

Yea, I'm not worried about the river taking care of itself - just the ruts attracting more assholes to try what they might not have otherwise.

Post up if a work party forms up. I cannot go until elk season concludes in late October but might be able to help out after that. Victor
