Solved Broken oil filter tab

I have a asr oil filter wrench that grabs the two tabs. The wrench won and now have only one tab. Suggestions to remove? Oil already drained

Use a strap wrench:

It can be tricky to put on just right, but it works like a charm by distributing the force all around the cap, not just the tabs.

If you have time to wait for it or can source locally get the metal oil filter housing. If I recall it’s the same across many Toyota models and might be widely available. You just move over the taller inner tube and spring retainer

I did the same thing. Stopped by the Toyota parts department to get the cup version of wrench tool. As well I have replaced the cup with an aluminum one from Venza. Remember to exchange inside guts between the two.

Thanks guys. Walked to autozone and bought every kind they had. One of their cup sockets worked. Now installing Jowett replacement housing
