Look awesome!!! I need to do that sometime...

But dude, get some new inside door latches and make it look really nice. That good-a-job on the doors deserves new latches. They aren't that expensive.

Jody.

Those look pretty good. I have a set of doors to do that to. I need to practice my welding skills a little and that might be just the project.

Good Job

Looks great! I have a spare set of doors that will get a similar treatment 'cept I plan on soft uppers with zip down windows to go with them.

I've got the same plan Bman, I'm already "half"way there (pun intented). Here's my scratch built attempt. Soft uppers are next.

Very cool Cdaniel.

Thanks, but 72cruiser's doors are what I really wanted to do. Nice stock lines and double walled. Sturdy! I couldn't find the combo of good enough doors for cheap enough price to use as donors. They were all too beat up and/or rusty for cheap or good shape for too much money. And the fiberglass ones from Specter were way too spendy.

I'm a cheap S.O.B. :D so I did the home brew bare minimum with some free leftover latches from a Jeep buddy.

I'd much rather have 72's when they're done.

yeah, it took me a while to find the right combo of cheap and solid to do the doors...

i've got one left over with what looks like a bullet hole on the outer skin if anybody needs it....i think it's passenger side and not terribly nasty

Where do you purchase soft half windows? Also mine have what are called "door pin inserts" a cheap piece of plastic that installs in the hard door and the soft half window fits into. They cost $27.00 apiece at the Jeep dealer and Bestop wants $49.95 for three. Does anyone know where they can be had for cheaper?

Thanks,

JB

The frames I made from scratch. The windows/skins were custom made by a local awning maker. They do custom tops for boats, Jeeps occasionally. Find a tent and awning maker in your local phone book.

Excellent work Cliff

Thanks. I still need to get them out for a highway run to see if they're going to flap in the wind much. I hope they are excellent then. ;)
