Soft tops are cool but...

Soo soft tops are great, but they are kind of expensive from what I have seen. To make one I don't want to do any kind of stiching/cutting vynl... and whenI got my runner it came with an extra top
I have decided that Im gonna chop up in a few hrs. lol
At about 3 I can leave the office and start to do some work, but here is a picture of what im thinking. Any recomendations?

Have a friend that cut his, but he bolted it up and cut the back half of it off, more like a hard bikini top. It pretty much just keeps the sun off of the rear passengers. If you cut the front off and slide the whole top forward, you will not be able to bolt it to the cab. Having the rear window would look cool though, and I'm sure you can figure out a way to bolt it down.
