Going to start fabbing my cage for the 71. Found that the top of the stock roll bar is a hair over 45.75" to the floor. Anyone know how much room there is between the factory bar and a BESTOP main bow?

I just ran into this myself, a stock height roll bar has plenty of clearance with the top. However, when I built my family cage, I made the rear hoop the same height as the middle one and I now have to remove the bows when I remove the top as it won't clear the rear hoop anymore to fold down.
I guess that;s why when you see proffessionally fabbed up family cages they drop in the rear some.

Fr8train you are doing it right by using the measurements for a soft top. The soft top is the smallest of the tops for our trucks. When you make a cage that fits a soft top you should be fine w/ the hard top. Also for any measurements that use the center of the OEM roll bar: The OEM roll bar has a 3 bend that is easily missed in the middle of it, its real slight but it does have a slight peak to the middle. I doubt it will though you off too much but it does add to the height.
