The newer versions of the land cruisers have a soft open tailgate. Not talking about the auto open ones but still the manually opening ones but with soft open... maybe the mechanism is a simple torsion bar system that can be retrofitted to the older models. ... or one with a shock perhaps.. let’s hope someone with the system can share...
