I replaced the sock in my 91 and when putting it back in the tank I had to put pressure on it, is this normal? it did not slip into place. thanks

No direct experience here, but sounds normal: Apparently it's a pretty tight fit, to the point where some folks even worry they got the wrong part.

When I put my (fuel pump) back in the tank I had to maneuver it a few times until it drooped in the tank, but ounce it went in, I didn't have to force it. So no pressure. IME

You are talking about the pump right, not the sock?

Thank you all, NLXTACY I viewed your post and followed it. so the fuel pump should fit flush once you have it in place? I'll go out and try it again mine seems to stop about a 1/3 inch from fitting flush. thanks again
