uhhhhh....that one's cute. ;)

We obviously haven't met, but I wouldn't need to put half my weight on that thing before I pulled the upper hatch off :eek:

Me = pretty big fella
That Rack = cute, shiny and puny

:D

Ary, I only have the "3/4" length ARB rack and I really like it. My favorite thing about the rack is its strength and I don't think that many of the other brands are as tough. It cool to use your rack as a tree slider in extreme pucker factor moments.

I've been meaning to ask that. How do they work as "tree sliders"? I have a feeling if I ever lift the 80, and maybe even with just the added height of the rack, I'll be needing "tree sliders" on the local trails.

RJ, I've never slept on the roof, but I've slept in the back numerous times, and I can't ever seem to find a level tent spot anyway, so no biggie. Rather sleep on a smooth slope, than on a bumpy flat. ;)

You slide your rack against the tree instead of crunching your roof. Never done just what I've been told.

I have the full length on mine. I've come to hate it. It weighs a ton, it's VERY loud, and it takes a good 1.5 miles per gallon off on highway trips.

If it were a cinch to put on/remove, that would be one thing. But it takes me and two of my neigbors to remove/replace it, and even then I got a nice gouge in the roof once.
