You mentioned you were going up the back way? Are you going up from Baldwin Lake or Redlands?

Negatory on both of those. We are headed up the 173 back behind silverwood lake. It's a paved highway that quickly turns into dirt (well in our case snow)... also there won't be any chain checkpoints It will drop us out at the gun range, pinnacles and 3n34. We'll see how far we can get

Dang now I wish I had taken a picture of it today. I drove Scotty to a good vantage point down the street and had a clear view. It was definitely a good dumping of snow for our little peak. You could clearly make out the fire roads as pure white with a solid pack around the towers. I need to take Scott to the snow soon.

Just saw on the Caltrans site that 173 is closed "7 miles east of junction at 138 to 17 miles east of 138"


Not likely that anyone will be around to enforce it though (as mentioned), and if I'm not mistaken you guys are coming from the other end? ...so maybe it doesn't matter anyways?

I have actually been up there a couple of times during the snow back in 2006, back before I had the TLC, Scoobyroo!!!
