Finally have a snow run under my belt. Joined a crew from the Blue Forum and had a fantastic day with a bunch of great people. I didnt keep count but I believe there were 10 rigs that went. One Lone Land Cruiser - among the rabbits! ;) It was tough keeping up with them going up the elevation at 5N. We ran Mt Pinos and I believe its the Plato Trail?

As always wrong stamp date...

Some pics -

E, I was told the name was Plato and not all of the trails were open. This trail was dirt road all the way to the dead end. Its funny that I decided to run with them after a morning cup of coffee yesterday - yeah last minute thing. There were three areas that had deep snow that gave some trouble. As a newb I would not do a snow run without backup. But of plenty of trees to use a winch on to get unstuck.

Funny thing - It was good I came because I ended up strapping out a Tundra that ran with us. The FJCs couldnt pull the truck out even with a 9k winch or double pull. I had extraction duties yesterday with the Tundra and a couple of stock FJCs. They were impressed with the 80 for sure - it just slow plowed over the deep snow without gunning it. Snow runs are fun. :grinpimp:

Those built FJCs really look nice especially the built Sandstorm colored one in the pic.

Cool pics, looks like fun. I agree, that "sandstorm" color looks pretty darn good

Looks like you had some deep sections.

2X That Sandstone FJC with the Claws is a nice rig.

Man, I love the beige and black steelies!

nice alan....I am very jealous of your all out west.

Very cool Alan! Glad to see you finally got out! You've deserved a fun run for a long time now! Great pics.

Thanks Dave. I have to take what I can get. Looking forward (if nothing comes up ) to making the Run and Eat next month. If thats the date agreed of course.

Awesome you got out Alan. I need to make a snow run too before it is all gone.

Is that "Sandstorm, Sandstone" color a custom paint job by the owner? I have never seen one that color.

You got to! Pretty soon its sunny and blue sky SoCal again.
Its the new FJC color for 2008. That rig looks better in person than the picture.
