Smitty, you posted that you have done some changes to the 80. Im curious how it looks now since youve changd the rims and upped to 315s! Its been what...a year or two since you started camping in Atlanta?

Post some pics man!

Lol! This took me a few days to find. Really the 315s are the only change since my snorkel party at Dave's shop. I am going on trip this weekend with some Rovers. I will make sure to post some pics up next week. I am still hoping for a 4.88s and a super charger in the future!

Thanks for the love from the left coast!

Rovers - you're having to stoop to wheeling with Rovers?

You need to come back to CA dude!

I MISS CA multiple times a day! There will be a FW80 with me as well. I have some business with the Rover crowd. Plus I like wheeling with Defender's! This group really like cruisers too!

Ok - if you're generating business from them, that's ok. hehehe

They are a great bunch as well. We have a good time. One of them just sold his pristine D90 to fund a FJ62 that he wants. He is going to do a diesel swap in the 62. Many of them have had, have, or want various cruisers as well. Needless to say, they don't harass me as much as us cruiser folk would harass them :D. They also make a good bit of fun of the reliability of their rigs. They do know how to have a good time though.

I am fortunate that the GA Cruisers is a good bunch as well. The only thing that I need is more time to wheel with both groups. Davis went out on his first day trip a few months back and loved it! From then on he randomly yells "Daddy car wheeeeeeeee!" It is great!

Ahhhhh...just dont get caught at the wrong end of the strap!

I am very glad that I replaced the ATs with some mud terrains...Still prob need swamper if it has rained. If I do need assistance, I will have to make sure that it is the other 80 giving it to me!

Having a Toyota along at a Rover outing is acutally very helpful to both sides. The Toyota person has people to wheel with while the Rover owners have someone to go for parts. :p

Smitty does have something to do with these guys other than sell financial products then!

Ok, so here is a mini update. Wheeling out here is very different. I miss the west very much. I am sure it is the people that I miss more than the terrain. You will see in the pics and video that there is more mud and more trees. The mud terrains were a must as the all terrains turn in to racing slicks with any precipitation on the red clay mud. The Maxxis Big Horns have done great during the two muddy trips that I have taken them on. The 315 size is a nice plus as well.

Video of a very muddy hill climb - Davis was in the back yelling "WEEEEEE" the whole time. This was his first real wheeling trip.

I can't wait to see you guys again.

pic of the truck while driving through Louisiana during the move back to Atl. Notice the articulation on the curb. Oh, and the driving rain.

Also a pic the new shoes and the factory alloys went on.

Nice pics Smitty - As Alan said...the governator may be closing lots of Kalifornia's parks, so if you can make SnT this year...

It might be a good turnout (SC80s) this year at SnT (Pismo might get closed too) so if youre going to make it...

...and my offer for shotgun to Pismo still stands Smitty!

I am not going to be able to make it this year for sure. We have a speaking engagement at a convention to a large group of Doctors that weekend. I really hate to see the same attitude towards the parks out west that we are seeing here. 2 out of the last 3 public trails that I have been on are closed now. Tellico being the largest loss for the off road community. I really hope that I get a chance to see Pismo again. I am worried about the future of our passion though.

Brent, I plan on saying yes to your offer one of these days, Surf & Turf or not!
