Hey Smitty,

Hope you and the family are above all the flood waters down in hotlanta and are ok!

Guess your drought is officially over.

Thanks for the positive thoughts! My family and I are safe and sound. We live on a hill. The people across the street, well, not so lucky...they live on the bottom of a hill. Things are very bad in some areas. Not bad at all in most. I am sure the media makes it out to be worse than it actually is.

We did get 12-15 inches of rain yesterday in most areas in and around Atlanta. Some very tradgic losses of life as well. There are still many roads closed and flooded. The bad areas seem to all be near the main river (Chattahoochee) and other smaller rivers and streams.

Bad news is that there is more rain on the way and it is not supposed to stop until next Monday. Good news is that the draught is over and this rain should be "normal" rain...you know the 2 inch per day type of stuff. I am sure that we will be fine.

I did have some fun being envied by all on the road around me yesterday. The 80 series is a beast! I even drove across town for a client meeting...LOL!

Good to hear you guys are safe and dry!!! Someone else, in either the 80's section or chat was bragging about being able to ford flooded streets that had cars stopped and stalled! Be wary of washouts and underlying currents that can be subtle in all that bravado!!!

Dang Smitty - just realized the PGA is supposed to be playing the FEDX cup tour championship at Eastlake CC in Atlanta beginning tomorrow. Place is probably a wreck with all that rain. What do you know?

Glad to hear that you are all well out there buddy. Hope it eases up for those less fortunate.

PGA tour players practiced yesterday and are doing so again today. More rain in the forecast for tomorrow through Sunday so it will be interesting to see what happens. I turned down a ticket to todays practice round since I didn't really want to drive through town and then walk around a soggy course.

Can't say I blame you - where the spectators are allowed to walk is likely to be a muddy, sloppy mess!

crazy

Wow I can imagine having that kind of situation in our neck of the woods.:steer:

There has been some talk of an El Nino this winter. We badly need the water...up north for storage, not here. Just runs to the ocean down here. Here will bring horrific mud slides to all the burn areas.
