To the 'smart key' experts...
The wife has had a couple issues with the 'smart key' fob and/or proximity sensor...
On more than one occasion as she approaches the 200 it beeps 3 times and she can not open any of the other doors/rear gate just the drivers door unlocks...the inside manual push button to lock/unlock doors will not unlock the other doors or rear gate either. She has to start up the 200 to get it to manually unlock the doors. Very annoying for her esp in the rain carrying work stuff and wants to put in back seat so has to set it on the ground to then go thru this process frustrating for sure...
Any thoughts on what causing this 3 beep lock up? I have replaced fob batteries and even vehicle battery. She has also played with some of the settings in the Nav screen for lock/unlock...
Thought this was sorted but she mentioned it happening again...
Anyway to disable the 'smart key' and purchase/program a simple lock/unlock fob with no proximity sensing that will allow the push button start to work?
Someone mentioned the 2 smart key fobs may be programmed differently? How do I determine...techstream, dealer, locksmith?
Any other ideas?
