My rig has a slightly rough idle. That is to say that it is not perfectly smooth. Is this normal? Am I being anal? I read a thread about checking the intake hose between throttle body and the airflow sensor for cracks and found none. Are there any other potential air leak areas? Thanks -Dace

If it's only a slight roughness, it's probably normal. Apparently a lot of these rigs have a slight stumble at idle, but it doesn't hurt to go looking for potential problems. Don't worry about being too anal. Many of us are quite obsessive about things, you'll just become part of the club.

When was the last time the plugs were changed etc.
Also you may want to try some of the redline fuel treatment.
    Search on it and SeaFoam.

I have a 91 and it does the same thing. Just a slight stumble when it idles at around 600 RPM, as soon as I accelerate, or if it idles higher, it goes away.

Try the Redline Fuel system treatment. I changed my cap, rotor, plugs, wires, fuel filter and still had a very slight miss at idle.
I put in a bottle of Redline SI-1 and now it runs like new..
    good luck

Stumble. That is the perfect way to describe the idle. I have done a full tune-up and the rig runs great over all. It is just that stumble. It is really only noticeable in park/neutral. When in gear and driving, everything is fine. I will look for some Redline fuel treatment. Best place to get it? Thanks for all of the replies! -Dace
