I would have gone Budbuilt if the prices were close. RCI has a few discounts going on so I got the steel engine, transmission, transfer case and aluminum fuel tank skid last week. Powder coated Budbuilt was about $2100 delivered and RCI was a little over $1300 for all 4 pieces. They really appear to be high quality and should be plenty strong.

Spent yesterday in the driveway and added RCI’s transmission and transfer case skids to my existing RCI engine skid. I left the cat guards in the box for another day of lying underneath the truck.

Did you end up drilling a hole on the bottom of the frame for the cross member? I don't know if that one bolt on each side is enough to hold it in place the way I want. I had them about as tight as I could get and the cross member would still move until I added the skid. Maybe that is ok but it didn't feel "right".

tried to snug it up against the frame with a jack but stil had the 1/4” gap. I’m good with it for now but will check it after a trail run next month. I like your approach - Good call on stands and the ramps. I just did ramps and bailed on the eaze of the dog bone realizing I had a little more room laying on the ground.

I have the same gap. It was snug but I couldn't get it to not shift when I removed the jack. I'll just do the same and keep an eye on it.

Yeah the ramps didn't give me much room and I'm a big boy. :)
