Just bought this 2006 with 230k miles locally in Saint Louis. Florida car originally, then Indiana. The previous owner visited family in Canada and while there had the undercarriage rust-proofed (I think fluid film?). Absolutely zero rust - actually a lie, a few bolts show a touch, but nothing that would scare us here in the Midwest. Really just starting to work through some maintenance and repairs needed. The front AHC shocks are leaking (very slowly), rear engine main seal leaking (small puddle on garage floor) and transfer case is also leaking (very slow). The latter two leaks were previously repaired at Toyota dealers in Canada. Almost all services were completed at Doral Toyota (FL), Evans Toyota (IN), Vandermeer Toyota (Ontario) and Castaway Toyota (Ontario). I have been very disappointed to find that almost every hose and clamp that was replaced was not a Toyota OEM part. I am going through it and correcting those. I will be replacing the accumulators as I have no interest in removing the AHC which still works famously with almost no maintenance to the system.

The rack, awning, wheels and tires were moved over from my previous 1999 that it replaces (I wanted VVTi and AHC with and LC tag). And wanted less rust of which this has none.

Installed the cabin air filter conversion kit from @cruiserpatch a couple of days ago. I used the Toyota Clean and Refresh kit prior to the change. In retrospect, I would manually clean out the box before using the kit from Toyota. It was so full of crap that I doubt it did much good. I really wanted to clean the vanes on the evaporator core but they seemed fragile and I didn't want to cause leaking.

I did the same refresh on my 2006 and added the parts. Was able to use a small shop vac to get the crud out and then sprayed it down with some stuff from Advance auto. Make sure the drain tube is clear. I used a piece of heavy weed whip cord to clear the line. End result was no more wet passenger side food mat.

Picked up the Ohana Rig Supply Stealth Console Panel from someone used on Facebook and installed it. Haven't attached anything to it yet, but I am waiting on some things and trying to find time during some life changes.

I haven't looked lately but I believe the subaru branded coil evap cleaner is the same stuff as the Toyota, but half the price. At least it used to be.

For some reason my BT45 Toy stopped working. I pulled the head unit to see why and it just started working again. Loose wire I guess. The problem is the right side vent cracked and the driver’s side broke apart. This is the 3rd 100 I have had and never have these break before! Is this a late model issue? What did I do wrong?

At least Impex has them for $138. Compared to over $800 here. Still don’t get the US markup.

Replaced the fuel filter the other day. Lots of content to help get this done plus I had completed this on my 1999. When changing this one out I included new bolts and hose clip in my purchase as the original were 20 years old. The existing bolts did show some surface rust also. Anyone know what the mount or clip is in the foreground? It seems to have been broken by one of the previous dealer service departments so I'd like to replace.
