I was told that you can remove the silencer --- and then use a Gates 22874 hose to go directly from the filter housing to the PAIR valve. I have such a hose but I haven't tried it yet.

I don't think the silencer serves any real operational functional. And people remove it to make it easier to put in a second battery.

Correct...mine is removed and routed directly to the air box to make room for the second battery. Basically you'll just hear a low rumbling/farting sound when you start it up for about 30 seconds and then on decal when it comes into play. Not that obnoxious, but you are removing the silencer after all....
