good work! where did you mount that high lift jack to? im afraid of damaging the front bumper doping that. it feels like its made of tin.

Yea, I would not suggest lifting the truck like this if you have any concern about keeping your bumper in good shape, mine is totally trashed. There is a mounting point where the bumper mounts to the frame where I'm lifting that in the picture so it supported the weight, but I wouldn't use that on an unstable surface and or without some other support.(Jackstand)

Overall this rig is pretty beat, lots of mileage and ware and tear, but I'm not looking for a beauty queen.

Good news, it runs! I scored a used transfer case and birf, and swapped them in and it runs and drives great! Now on to getting it registered and insured. I didn't take any pictures of the transfer case swap, but Ill tell you, it wasn't that hard. Ill provide more detail on that and the birf swap in the morning. I'm just totally :bounce::bounce2: right now.

awesome, i was just thinkin about this project this weekend. Congrats!

Feb 12 update

More good news! I finally got around to the DMV and got my rig registerd and smogged! Passed the first try. Not bad for a 300k vehical.
I am taking it out for its first run this weekend, up to Groveland to go camping with some friends. Ill take some pictures.
