Hi,

I just dropped of my control arms to have the OME castor correction bushings pressed in. I took them to a machine shop and the guy said it was going to be a PITA and he was worried about getting the bolt holes the right distance apart. How exact does it have to be? Anybody ever have any issues if the holes aren't exact?

I was also worried about making the mark in the right spot for the angle of the first bushing. How close does that need to be? If I'm off by a little, is it a big deal?

Thanks,

Scott

if it is off it will be difficult/impossible to put bolts through them.

someone here had made some templates for installing the bushings

landtank did, and I would get them if there is any question in your mind about how competent the person installing the bushings is.

I have read that you can make a template out of 1/2" copper pipe if you are handy with sweat soldering. Ends up being a U shaped template 3 pieces of copper and 2 90 degree elbows.

I have not done it so would encourage Landtank or others to confirm.

I asked the guy to use one as a guide to fit the other. Then when one was fitted, use it as a guide to do the second one. Not sure if that's possible or not. I hope he can do it.

Bushings

Buy Landtanks bushing template I was having the same issue of getting something to work then I bought the template and it worked great. I just did mine PITA to get them out but no problem putting them in.

This is how I did mine with help from a friend.

Ok, I helped a friend do mine. :D
