If its going to the States the Clipper might be an option. When I get heavy stuff from the States that's the way I go. Although my version of heavy is in the 100lb range. If you are sending a 2H they might complain:hhmm:

You should come to the "Flag" on the 9th Ryan.... if that 80 of yours isn't too scared of the Malahat.....:flipoff2:

Phone a trucking company and ask for the LTL price. They will want to know the dimensions. You would also need to be able to load it and unload it using a pallet jack or forklift.

Yeah, southern states from the sound of it...not as heavy as a 2h, but over 100lbs I think.

We'll see tho. if I delay long enough I may not have to do it...

as for the meeting, meh, maybe. it's more the getting home late I'm not into. kindof more driving than I feel like doing on a weeknight.
Usually knackered when I get home from nanaimo, so it's hard to get enthused about turning around and driving to vic and back.

The best price I could find to send a 300# PTO and bar to Quebec last month was on Canadian Freightways - just over $300. You can save a lot of money shipping depot to depot rather than home pick-up to your buyers door. If you just strap it to the pallet (don't box it), then it will have to go top-load. Make sure you mention this when you call for a quote. Make sure you have all the correct dimensions and approx. weight. They allow a certain weight for the volume of space. If you are over that, then it costs more. If you are happy with the quote, then keep your quote number. You will need the quote number when you get to the shipping depot to get the better price (unless you have an account already). Also, it will save you a lot of time with the Bill of Lading form as the information is already taken when you ask for a quote. As for export documentation, i can't say. I have never sent anything over the border. I am sure the freight company will tell you what is needed.
