hello,I am new to the forum.Just purchased 86 4runner 22re 5speed.It currently needs tires.I am leaning towards 32 11.5s.I am also going with new shocks and bj spacers in the front. In the back i have the typical sag.Trying to decide if i should go with blocks, add a leaf,or covert to chevy springs. If done some searching and havnt found if the stock chevy springs add any lift.any suggestions are appreciated,4runner will see mainly dirt roads some hills and mud.Not much in the way of rocks in n. florida.

Check into putting used, front TJ coils in the rear. I did on mine. It cost me $20 & I've been very happy with the results.

This is how it looks. I still have to crank the fronts to get about 1" lift to level it out. It sits on 30" tires right now.

Got sag? Do the ZUK mod...

And what's so bad about lift springs?

I hardly think the 1.5" you'll need to level it out after the BJ spacers is worth all the fabbing 56" "Chevy" springs will take...

But it will add crazy flex when you're done...

IMO, you need traction diffs, gears, and wide tires for flotation.

Seeing's how yer in Florida...

That's where I got my idea. The front Heep TJ springs is one of the iterations.

The reason I went the TJ route is that I may sell it and it can be done w/out any modifications to the truck. Simply cut about 1.5 inches off the top of the spring to fit it thru the upper bump stop bracket and slip them in using a coil compressor at full suspension droop. Mine will not come out.

You'll likely get a bit of lift from the 63" chevies. Probably more than you will want to do with your IFS front unless you want the flex. You do have to fab hangers, ubolt plates, and shackle hangers. Driveline stays the same but you may need long shackles to make up for pinion angle which will make your lift more extreme.

Run lift shackles in the rear and spacers in the front.

Just a dumb question here, but anybody try the ZUK mod on the front springs? I'm tired of running in terror from speedbumps.

thanks for the responses.Decided to go with the zuk mod and bj spacers.I plan on going with gears and lockers next.I will try to get pictures of runner on this weekend.Any suggestions on shocks?
