I'm grinding and tacking tonight trying to get my 3 link set for mock up. What is good general rule setting the angle on the link brackets on the axle? Close to the angle of the pinion yoke angle?
thanks for response over here too ... I really was just looking for a good starting point to tack the links to actually start playing with "real world" geometry vs. the link calculator. To me it seemed like the pinion angle would have to be "in the neighborhood" of where to start the brackets.
I'm hoping not have to run a CV (or cornay) but I'm not opposed to it if need be. All of my link shanks are about 4 inches long so I should have plenty of adjust if needed.
the d-shaft angle and the pinion angle really have nothing to do with each other....when i did mine i set the pinion pointing directly at the t-case at ride height which i think was around 9 degrees, then tacked the lower link brackets on with the links as flat as i could get them which wound up being 5 degrees. and yes it is real easy to fine tune the pinion angle by adjusting your upper links later on
