Great issue! It was nice to see the FJCruiser on the cover and miss the color after page 17 :crybaby:

I liked Chef's article and Todd's explanation also of what's goin' on.

Props guys on a killer rag.

you know, it's funny you say that.
i keep hearing people rag on the fj. sure, it's no land cruiser, but then again, it's cracked the door open a bit for us at tmc headquarters, or at least, helped. so if it is helping tmc to finally realize us as a customer base, and maybe even to start supporting us like rover, and even the blasphemous company, then why not? if you don't like it, don't buy it.
but be grateful for what it is doing for us as a club. and, really, it ain't that bad. little funky, but it's growing on me!
and it only took toyota twenty three years to figure it out. talk about on the ball. hehehehehe

I can understand why some say what they say about the FJ...I don't agree with it at all..

It's a new product from Toyota that will ultimately get new people involved in the sport and hopefully the TLCA. More dues!

The enthusiasm in which it has been embraced by the owners is contagious and well deserved. Is it a Land Cruiser..of course not, but it's not supposed to be either. Just a knock off to appeal to a new group of enthusiast that in the end...make us all stronger.

I say  to TT for putting it on the cover.

props on another great issue...

I had time to breeze thru the pics last night....probably find time to read it later this week....or next.....or the next......

(TGFpics, or I'd be SOL!)

For what it's worth, an FJ Cruiser owner qualifies for TLCA membership because his or her FJ Cruiser is a Toyota four-wheel drive vehicle with a transfer case. Therefore, though some may not like it, the FJ Cruiser is eligible for TLCA events and to be featured in Toyota Trails.

I suspect there will be much the same backlash toward me as when I put an LX470 (wheeling) on the cover of Toyota Trails. Same story though--it's a Toyota four-wheel drive with a transfer case.

I felt like the TLCA was honored when Paul approached me about the article. It's an exclusive to Toyota Trails and in my opinion, a quality article. I like the photography too and especially the cover shot. Nicely composed and the contrast between the FJ Cruisers and the terrain is striking. My only regret is that we didn't have a larger file but it worked well enough.

I can't keep everyone happy all the time but I can say that I try.

Why, you looking for a date? :D

Yes. And I have two kids. And a dog, and am soon to have another. And a cat and a goldfish. And they're all happy some of the time but seldom happy all of the time. Well maybe the goldfish, he seems pretty content 24/7.

Any more questions? ;p

TJK

1. that was a "you are married" not an "are you married" semantics? probably, but it seems as though it was necessary:eek:
2. the goldfish should be happy 24/7 i mean, really.
3. i also am married with a kid, and a cat, and well, that's how i knew that statement meant you were married.
4.:none for now.
5.:flipoff2:
hehehehehehehehe

got mine yesterday...was hoping to read it today at work, but still have to write my vice commander report for rising sun and my vp report for the state association, and my employers actually expect me to sell some parts.

Todd- great write-up about the Rubithon. Thanks for all the kind words you portrayed me perfect. Like I always tell people it is not about Landcruisers it's the people you are with and to have a good time. Oh ya the pic of me in the article made my wife laugh her ass off "thanks". I had a good time hanging out with you and would do it again in a heart beat.

Ryan,

I waasn't intending to rag on the FJC. I am just surprised to see it as previlant so quickly. I have driven one several times and am pretty impressed honestly. The only off-pavement has been spotting for an FJC owner though, it surprised me in that venue as well. Hopefully this new product will drag in some new members.

Shut it or I'll get off my chaise lounge by the TLCA pool, put out my Cohiba, set down my Dewer's, walk down the hall to the sauna room and slap you silly.
