When I had the exhaust done on my 80, I dropped back to a single catalytic converter. It also seemed like this one wanted to bolt up at a 15 degree angle compared to the Magnaflow Y-pipe cat assembly. At any rate, it is unexposed to engine heat/exhaust. It's been sitting in my basement for probably 3 years.
