been working on my 1982 hj47- the seats are in need of repair, and i was wondering what others have put in- mostly stuff thats a direct bolt in- i did find a set from a -07 - 10 TOYOTA TUNDRA SR5 SR-5 FRONT SEATS with CONSOLE and i was wondering if anyone knew anything about these seats or had one- there nice, but not sure they can work with the shifter-

cheers

I went to the local pick and pull and got the rear buckets from a ford winstar or aerostar or somethingstar. The were a direct bolt in and are very comfortable. Reclining, headrest, fold-down armrest, etc.

All I did was take my seats out and measure the holes, then went to the junk yard with some tools and a tape measure.

I also put a rear folding bench seat in the back. Now my kids can ride and have seatbelts!

Got any pics of this? I've heard the hilux seats are nearly bolt in--I think one of the 4 doesn't match. But they are hard to find in decent shape since they are so old. I would think those Tundra seats are big since that truck is so huge. I bought some Prelude seats for my troopy, but haven't put them in--I know they won't be a bolt-in.

I'd love to see a photo too. I put SR5 4 Runner seats in my troopy, and they are VERY comfy. Sadly, they are not bolt-in.

I'm putting Cadillac CTS seats in my HJ45. They are not bolt in and you end up sitting higher than the stock seat hight. I like them. Would be great for a 40 with the top off since the seat belt is integrated with the seat. Worth the effort to make them work, IMO.
