Does anyone now of a Drivers side seat cushion heater mat aftermarket plug and play replacement ? Not much on this out there, my 2000 LX after 23 years of ownership has a rip in the lower cushion, it is a lot of work to pull off and want to replace the non working lower cushion seat heater while i am in there.

Can't answer your question directly but I've installed a bunch of aftermarket seat heaters in my Toyotas.

One thing that comes to mind with your failed seat heater is that it would be unusual for the entire pad to fail. The way they are built is like a ladder, so in order for the whole pad to fail, every rung on the ladder would have to be broken. Not impossible, but unlikely. I would first check the connectors to ensure the bottom heater is receiving power. If it is, then the break is likely in the wire from the harness to the pad or at the connection to the pad. You'll be able to diagnose that when you pull the seat cover.

The second thing is that the heating part of the seat heater is dead simple. It is just a resistive element. You can buy a generic pad from Amazon or AliExpress and swap it in. The polarity of the wiring won't matter. Just cut the wires after where the harness connects to the factory seat heater and splice the wiring.

Try Dave Stedman at Japan4x4.com. He may be able to get an OEM seat heater for you; they're not available from US stock, but that doesn't mean they (or a replacement part) aren't available. The part number should be 87510-60130; at least that's the LX470 part number for the 2000 DS cushion heat pad.

FWIW, I just replaced the DS seat cushion leather on mine. That heater is really, really thin. Mine looked terrible, but surprisingly, it still works. I don't know this for certain, but the later generation pads may work. They definitely would, if you replaced the connector housing with the one from your pad, if they didn't use the same connector housing. It's a five minute job to swap them, and well worth the effort, IMO.

The part number is 87510-60250. It is also only available from Japan. If Dave can't get one, for some reason, one of the garage sales people (like JP-CarParts.com) can. Also, there's this option, used:

I know it says "upper" but this is the lower pad. The upper pad doesn't have the extra third section or the wings/arms (whatever you want to call them).

Asmara, thank you for that, they seem cheap enough to have on hand in case i can’t repair the original when i pull the seat cover of for replacement , will let you know how it goes, Chuck

White 2000 is getting the repair, the grey 06 already replaced driver side cushion leather and seat heater was fine and working

I do have to say after look

The photo of the factory warmer is interesting. It isn't constructed at all like the aftermarket ones which are more resilient (ladder type construction). One break in the factory design would kill the seat heater function.
