Search link on front page question

Is it only me or does the search on the link bar not search the same database as the advanced search?

It seems when I search with that I do not get current posts?

I clicked the Search word, and in the dropdown box typed in:

help with search

this thread appeared as number one....hhhmmmm

Aha, I think I figured it out. It has to do with the newer than 2 weeks. Seems like the main link bar search uses ALL for dates, vs, newer than 2 weeks in the Advanced.
