Scully Offroad 1963 FJ 45 Build AKA Rusty

[Scully Offroad]

So over the past 5 years a friend of mine has told me of this cattle ranch in Northern California near Susanville where an old FJ 45 pickup sat on its frame. We talked and dreamed of one day getting up there and talking to the rancher about buying it... Well we finally did and I brought home Rusty the 1963 FJ45 pickup!

The Plan is to do a restoration and build a stock looking wheeler/driver with modern suspension and 37" BFG KM2s.

So far I have pulled the body off the frame and replaced the rear crossmember of the frame, installed a 350 engine with Toyota Trans and T Case and im starting the suspension soon.

I have a bunch of parts around the shop so I plan on utilizing existing components to build the axles and suspension.
Chevy 6lug 44 narrowed to 60wms
Waggy D44 offset
4.56 gear, elocker front Detroit rear(for now)
14"radflo Coil overs front and rear with 4-link rear and 3-link panhard front

rear frame crossmember was rotten so I replaced it but cutting a 4" square tub down to the proper size

I built this bumper for the 8274 I got from CAMO... Cant have an FJ45 without an 8274

Awesome, I did something similar a few years back and love driving it.
How many 45s must have been in Susanville? I know of at least 15 that came out of that area over the years.

There were two up there at one point in time and they were one vin number apart. Rolled off the line and traveled together to the farm!
